iCloud and symbolic links

If you currently have your org files stored in a particular location on your computer, and would like to use beorg with iCloud sync, then you might start thinking about how a symbolic link (symlink) could help. Unfortunately you can’t create a symlink in iCloud to a place on your computers main storage device and get syncing to work. What you can do though is to create a symlink on your computer TO the location in iCloud. So if, for example, you like having a folder on your desktop with all your org files then you would create a symbolic link on your desktop TO your beorg iCloud folder. The files would no longer actually be stored in a folder on your desktop, however you would still be able to access that folder from your desktop.

For example (in Terminal):

$ cd ~/Desktop
$ ln -s ~/Library/Mobile\ Documents/iCloud~com~appsonthemove~beorg/Documents/org org

You’ll now have a link on your Desktop directly to your org files which are synced using iCloud with beorg.
